I'll admit it. I'm just too lazy to dig through 7 pages of posts to look. Anyway, on to business: I have recently been rewatching Season 3. (A girl's gotta do something while she's waiting for that Season 6 Season Premiere!) And so, I was reminded how totally in love with that whole season I am. It may just be that it's because that's when I started watching BtVS, but I'm pretty sure it's because it's just that darn good. (Btw, Season 5 is a close 2nd in my heart.) Well since we find ourselves looking back on 100 fabulous episodes of this show, I thought it'd be interesting to take a look back and talk about what we dug the most. Right now, I'm more interested to hear what other folks have to say, but I'll add later why I love Season 3 so much. -Chami

It had allthe best episodes they were all good. And there was alot of x/c love in it lol. Plus it has the best episode ever in it go fish! ( Nick in a speedo g droole). Ok umm i liked the begining of season 3 before that whole homecomming thing w/x yukk. And all of season i was good. Season 4 was laking something what do you call it oh yeah xander. And season 5 was better even though i'm not a anya fan i like emma though she's really cool and i geuss i like anya just with someone else. Ok well thanks for reading all of this if you have. Amy

Okay, so, definate lack of Ms Benson, which is never a good thing ...but, BUT! The whole Buffy/Angel/Angelus story-arc was just...beautiful. 'Suprise' sob 'Innocence' sniffle 'Passion' triple-sniffle Then there was the first appearance of my favourite big-bads Spike and Dru and a brilliant (IMO, the best) season finale ever in 'Becoming I and II'.

Just EVERYTHING about it, the stories the jokes the twists the heartbreaks..... it was just sooooooo good! Everyone was at their height of brilliant-ness... Buffy, Xander, Willow (in a cutesy awwwww-sho-sho-cute kinda way - LOVE her now too though!) Oz, Angel... and aaaah FAITH! YES! Faith = perfect-perfect-perfect. There was just something mind-blowing about every single episode, and even IF the stories weren't that that good, everyone was just so witty that it made up for it. And uh..the whole Buffy and Angel storyline.... LOVED it, aaah LOVE it (denial: Angel on different show? noooo) and everytime Buffy broke down I broke down too (The Prom, have you ever seen anything more depressing... well perhaps becoming... and the body... and the gift, but oh you get the point!) Didn't it just have some of the BEST episodes? Think: Amends, Doppelgangleh..(bladybladyblah), and allllll the others- the one where she could read people's minds, the one where spike came back to town... don't make me list them all! Apart from the first two the whole season was a stroke of frickin genius! You don't remember until you go back and actually watch an episode.. GO, NOW, you'll see what I mean! It did however lack one pretty ESSENTIAL element...... TARA! oh I love her soooo soooo much! Gotta be honest, I was getting really disinterested in Buffy towards the end of Season 4 with the whole Riley(yuk)/Initiative/annoying-mean Buffy/Adam lameness, but my wonderful-wonderful Tara saved the show for me. Never seen anything more boooty than her and willow together (sigh). If it wasn't for her I may have never gone on to see Season 5. and oh what a mistake would that have been coz BOY did I LOVE Season 5 ... woooh go DAWN! and Spike! and Willow!(oh wow williow!) and even buffy got back some of her cool! Sooo many episodes I loved: the troll one was soooo funny, Blood Ties (thats the one where Dawn finds out right?) the one with April, The Body, the one where they're running away from Glory, the FINALE (still sobbing)... although mostly I was obsessing over all Tara scenes, gotta admit. Anywayz... gonna stop babbling now: to answer your question Chami - its gotta be season 3, but season 5's a close second... so I guess we're kinda the same! okay, I'll..uh..go now. bye!

Posts: 789 (06/07/01 11:50:15) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Ok, here's my favs, starting from #1: 1st: 2nd season - Can't go wrong with this angst-filled one that brought us the introduction to Spike, Druscilla, Oz, and Angel's darker half. With a suspenseful closing half of the season, this proved that not all shows suffer from the "sophmore slump" 2nd: 5th season - This came so close to ursurping fav season from season 2. More excellent characterization (finally sheding alot of light on Tara), and heartwrenching twists, and brilliant performances from all the cast, plus a similar, but different finale from S2 make for a winning season 3rd: My 3rd favorite is the 3rd season! Before S5 came along, this was very close to how i liked S2. From the moment Buffy arrived in Sunnydale, to the moment she blew up her school, this season, this one never had a dull episode. Plus the slayer VS slayer storyline was killer. 4th: 1st season - It's ranked 4th mainly cause 3 seasons were better and one was worst. 5th: 4th season - Yeah, I do know that this brought us the introduction of Tara, and gave us alot of great, well-needed characterization, and a few excellent one-shots (Hush, Superstar, New Moon Rising), but the story arc to this season was a mess. Now I've read that they had to change the story of S4 during it because of unforseen circumstances, and while it is still good overall, it shows. And I never got into Adam as a bad guy. I think Professor Walsh got killed off way too soon (one of the unforseen circumstances that led to a change.). Coax

Ok, here's my go of it: Top Ten Reasons Why Season 3 Was the Bomb: 1. Faith - I love Faith. She's the ultimate in cool. And Season 3 marked her arrival in Sunnydale. That whole tortured slayer bit just did it for me, and nobody is better than being bad than the amazing Eliza Dushku. It still kills me that Faith is off rotting in a jail somewhere. Such a waste! 2. Doppelgangland - Really, that's all I need say, but Evil Willow kicks ass. And you know who else is really good at being bad? Alyson Hannigan! It was just a bloody good time whenever Evil Willow was about. So deliciously evil! I loved it! 3. The Wish - One of my top 5 episodes. Just to see a glimpse of a world without Buffy. What a ride. Evil Willow and her puppy, Angel. The unexpected shock of seeing Cordy killed. The arrival of Anya. Evil Xander killing Angel. Oz killing Evil Willow. The Master snapping Buffy's neck. Just so much happened that I was so glad was all a bad dream at the end! 4. Angel's Return - So heart wrenching. Every time I see Buffy's face when she realizes just who ran past her in the woods, I get a little lump in my throat. Add in the whole angle of her lying to her friends about his return and the implications of doing so, and you got a great story. Plus their ongoing torturous love never gets old for me. 5. Giles and Spike - Giles in Band Candy and Spike in Lover's Walk. There are just great things to behold there. Seeing a bit of teenage wild Giles (too funny for words) and Spike's ranting about his lost love are just classic BtVS moments. 6. When It Snowed in Sunnydale - Okay, I'm a sucker for sap. When Angel was up on that hill waiting for the sun to rise and Buffy came to beg him not to kill himself, I was holding on by the edge of my seat. And then the snow fell. For a brief moment in time, it felt like there may be hope for them all yet. Angel and Buffy walking hand in hand in the snow perfect. Ok, that's only 6, but I'm only up to Helpless in my rewatching of Season 3, so I'll feel better informed to do reasons 7-10 after I finish. -Chami p.s. My order of Fave Seasons goes a little something like this: 1. Season 3 (see above) 2. Season 5 (I dug Glory. Dawn turned out to be cool. Willow/Tara goodness. The Body. The Gift.) 3. Season 4 (Although, I didn't much go for the whole Adam/Intiative thing, there was Hush, Tara's arrival, New Moon Rising, and Restless) 3 (tie). Season 2 (Buffy and Angel. Becoming, Part I & II) 4. Season 1 (Good, but still getting it's legs, so to speak)

(so slim and muscular and all ). If we're talking highlight episodes of extreme excellence, I'd say season four and five really ruled every previous season out!! Just think of "Hush", "Primeval", "The Body", etc. And Glory was the coolest villain so far! The Initiative was a yawn factor though, but served well as a plot device. But regarding complete seasons, I'd vote for season three too, though season two comes very close in second. Season one had a few highlights as well, but all in all it was a little boring (I didn't like the Master, either). I guess if i really had to chose, I would go with Season 2. Buffy and Angel sniffle.... having sex for the first time and then he doesn't call taken to a whole new extreme level ! Becoming 1 and 2... And of course Season 2 holds one of my favorite episodes of all time - Passion... Then we also have: Spike and Dru with their amazing chemistry and pure bizareness crashing into Sunnydale in School Hard... The list goes on. Like i said..it is hard to choose as so many Seasons have their own little gems of episodes.. Season 3 has some brilliant episodes - Lover's Walk, GIngerbread, Doppelgang Land....and how can we forget Kendra and her curious accent ! Season 1 - i still hold that very highly. I love the innocent place with Buffy, Willow and Xander, and it's nice to go back and watch it knowing how their lives change so much over the years... The Witch - hilarious "I'm a macho macho man, i wanna be a macho man" giggles I loved Angel in the first Season...so dark and mysterious.. other favorites of mine - Angel, Out of Sight Out of Mind, Nightmares and of course Prophecy Girl.. I loved Season 4 as well. I know a lot of people didn't like Season 4....but this season hit home with me. Especially at the beginning for Buffy, going to college, all these new faces, feels like you don't know anybody yet everybody seems to know everybody else already. The way the season was so fragmented i felt really helped give the feeling of what it's like to go to college and have to readjust somewhat.. Now..I know loads of people said Beer Bad sucked...but I thought it was hilarious - "beer foamy"... But the highlights of the season for me - The Freshman (because it reminded me of my first couple of weeks at college),Wild at Heart sniffle, Something Blue giggles, New Moon Rising more sniffles, Fear Itself - just for seeing Anya in a bunny suit and of course how can we forget Hush and Restless. Season 5 ... actually doesn't rate as highly on my list of Seasons. I felt there were a lot of filler episodes in Season 5...the most notable one being Weight of the World...i felt like we learnt nothing in that episode that we didn't already know, and that it's soul purpose was to keep us waiting another week to find out what the heck was gonna happen. That being said, there were some amazing episodes and i'm in awe everytime i watch them. Triangle - i LOVED. I felt that we hadn't really seen Willow be Willow for a long time. When i say that, i'm referring to her quirkiness and her Willow lines. And this episode seemed to bring her back for me... Fool for Love - i think a lot of us had been waiting a long time to see some back story to Dru, Spike and Angelus and it finally came. Annoyingly, I haven't seen the Angel crossover that goes with it, so i didn't get the full experience as such.. Into the Woods - not a major favorite of mine, but it did have some great scenes worth a mention...Xander really got to me in that episode. Lately, he's been mr advice giver for Buffy and i thought he was really touching when he spoke to Buffy about Riley towards the end. The ending - it's the classic movie ending, one of the couple is about to leave, the other has a change of mind, is racing to catch them before they leave...of course in the movie, they would...in Buffy ? what are you kiddin ? l if it wasn't bad enough, he could have just turned his head to the left and he would have seen her.... poor buffy ... Checkpoint - not a bad ep....very funny... I was Made to Love You - i still wish Britney had played April...i think she would have been brilliant ! This ep was very funny, but also incredibly sad - and I'm not even talking about the last scene of the episode yet !! It was sad for April. The last scene..well...eyes welling - that was just...heartwrenching... The Body - nuff said. pure brilliance on the writers and the cast... Intervention - finally Spike gets his moment and Buffy gives him it. Great ep. Tough Love - brilliantly written argument between Willow and Tara....very realistic and realistically acted applauds Spiral is probably one of my favorite episodes of this Season...some great one-liners, some top notch action (even if you could very clearly see the face of Buffy's stunt woman during the fight on top of the bus l)...and of course : the Gift - yay for Chris Beck with his music ! god i just realized how long this has gotten, so i think i better stop seeing as i haven't really made any earth-shattering points l except for saying that if i really had to choose..i'd go with Season 2, but i'd rather not choose

Posts: 4 (06/08/01 10:33:02) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	...uh, that's a tough one! i haven't seen season 5 yet (austria/germany's, like, ALWAYS behind...:-() but from what i have read about it i think i will absolutely love it! i have seen some trailers and pictures and i read the transcripts and i must say that i am sooooo glad spike finally got a regular "member" of the scoobies. although i was not THAT fascinated by season 4 (it did have genius moments though, like in "hush") i thought having spike there every now and then made the show somewhat more interesting to watch for me, i think that he could fill the gap when angel left ( at least a bit). i hadn't really noticed him before, i always thought sooner or later he would have to die anyway. but since season 4 he has become my favourite character. still, the best season for me was the 2nd. it just had it all: it was scary down to the bone, funny and, of course had a dramatic love story! it was just incredible! i loved angel turning bad and good again and in a weird way i liked the feeling to know that angel & buffy could never be together. on one hand i hoped they would copme back together but i knew they wouldn't, it was just really sad. season 3 was great because of faith! she just had it all! in the same way as i liked faith i now like tara, i think she is a really powerful great girl! she has this aura which makes her seem so strong and yet fragile at the same time!

Season 2 was also great. But I think season 2 has some great episodes, not all of them. Like Some Assembly Requird, Reptile Boy, Killed by Death. But the Angel/Buffy storyline was great though. I actually liked all the episodes of season 3. The whole Faith thing just rocked. I think season 5 will be on the second place on my list. We have just started with season 5 and I already have seen some eps: Buffy vs. Dracula - Funny episode, but not that great. Checkpoint - I loved this ep. Blood Ties - The whole Key thing is explained in this ep. and this ep. totally rocked. Crush - Spike was really cool. I was made to love you - Didin't really like this episode. The Body - Great episodes. One of the best episodes ever. Forever - A good episode. Espcially at the end. Tough Love - Loved this episode. Poor Tara *The Gift - I think this is the best Buffy episode ever. The eps I have seen, totally rocked. That's when I also thought about season 3. So, this is my list from now: Season 3 Season 2 Season 4 Season 1
