Episode discussion: Dead Things (Spoilers) |

Tonight when I was watching the previews for next weeks ep. I couldn't tell if the person Buffy kills is Amy or not. Was it Amy? And might I add it was good to see Tara again only if it was only for a split second. Could someone help me out on if it was Amy or not. But if is was she isn't really an innocent now is she?
Thanks, Alexia |

It sure looks like Amy. And it looks like she's haunting Buffy (real or just Buffy guilt?). I am equal parts dread and anticipation for this epsiode.
I've posted this somewhere else, but I'll post it here too. Faith, Faith, Faith, Faith, Faith......for you the bell tolls. ML |

Highlight for my comments.
-begin spoiler- TARA'S BACK!!! WHEEE! I loved this ep ... so much is moved forward. I know a lot of people around here don't like Spike, but I really thought he showed a lot of devotion to Buffy when he let her beat him senseless. Did I mention that Tara's back? There is so much subtext in everything that is going on ... I'm going to have to watch it again to even have a chance of getting it all. Tape it when it airs, or get it online. You will thank yourself for doing it. The Tara/Buffy scenes were so touching. I don't think words can do that final scene justice. The only thing I really didn't like about this ep. was the Dawn stuff. I have this impression of the writers going "Ok, she's a regular, so we have to put her in the ep. somewhere ... um ... just stick her in with the standard stuff about Buffy not wanting to be around, then have her run out of the room crying." I know (hope) all that whining is going somewhere ... I just wish it'd get there. Now Willow is kinda doing it, too, so maybe that means it's coming to something soon. Did I mention ... TARA'S BACK!!?? -end spoiler- Tape it. You'll want to watch it again. |

I do not think LET would be the right word because Buffy is stronger than Spike.

Have you actually seen the scene? He didn't even lift an arm to try to stop her. He knew she needed a punching bag, so he volunteered himself. This is the same Spike who has killed two slayers ... he's not exactly a weakling. I think Joss is trying to show us that this isn't a Spike-only deal. -end spoilers- |

the two of them talking with both of them looking down into their laps, well that reminds me of the scene in 'the body' , where tara and buffy talk about their moms both passing and tara offers to be there if buffy needs to talk
guess buffy finally needed to talk seems buffy is looking for an 'adult'/'mom' to confess her "sins" to and chew her out/tell her she's been 'bad' thing is, she's an adult now and has to make her own choices and take the consequences for them |

For the interested *glances at Beth*, I re-watched it with a stopwatch ... 7 full minutes (almost down to the second - 6 minutes, 56 seconds) of Tara-ey goodness. Considering there are only 42 minutes of actual non-commercial episode, that is a pretty nice improvement over the last few eps. Well, anything would be an improvement ... but you know. -end spoilers- |

Hey Jim...
You said the ep is so good to download it from the net. Uhm..any idea how I can go about doing that? There's a TV in my apartment that only plays snow and the VCR is busted so i have no way of watching the ep. Could you help? ~Spooky >'o'< "Arise orphans of the world, all you have to lose are your chains, all you have to gain are your glow sticks and pacifiers."

Holy moly. I just finished watching and I don't think that I could come up with anything worthy of posting. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. It's just, sometimes this show just totally leaves me sitting there, at the end of the episode, speechless. Maybe it's just me but I feel/felt this ache when I watched this episode. I wanted to cry almost, just to get it out but I just sat there. Sarah blew me away. The scene with Michelle and the entire scene at the end with Amber.....this show is so incredible. And the scene, the contrast with Buffy and Spike looking down (well, more than looking but still....)on Anya, Xander, and Willow---Joss makes it hurt and still want more. I'll leave further analysis in everyone else's much more capable hands but I just had to post my "wow".
And I experienced the most child-like glee when I saw Amber walk into the Double-Meat Palace. Enough babble. I think I'm going to go watch this episode again. (I know. It's a sickness. ML |

Re: Episode discussion: Dead Things (Spoilers) | ||

First off, I am so glad to see Tara again. I missed her soooo much. There are always sparks when W/T are together. The scene between Buffy and Tara is POWERFUL!!!!! I am glad Buffy is finally coming to terms with her behavior and is doing the right thing by confiding in Tara.
Second, I HATE Spike with a firey passion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every ep that goes by, I am convinced more and more that Spike has not changed. The only difference is he is in "love" with Buffy. He is a psychotic killer in "love" with a good person. Look at the scene in the Bronze. He tells Buffy she no longer belongs to her friends, and she belongs to him. He is making her feel like dirt so she will be with dirt(him). Spike is trying to make Buffy entirely dependent on him just like an abusive husband. Second, he does not understand what it is like to feel guilt. One person is just as important as thousands, and his evil, twisted mind can not get that. I hope this is the last of B/S's sexcapades. Honestly, I do not know how much more I can take. I REALLY HOPE THIS HAS A DUSTY ENDING. Third, Warren is FAR more evil than the other geeks. I am glad Buffy puts two and two together and figures she has been framed. This show is getting more and more interesting. Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.Tara: Willow, I got so lost.Willow: I found you. I willalways find you.Tara: Nobody messes with MY girl!Willow: I'm more of a breast gal myself...but then again, you knew that.
