Ok, I know no definite spoilers about tomorrow's episode, but I've heard many different things saying that Amber WILL be there and then things saying she WON'T be there, so I'm a little worried. I want my Tara-ific Tuesday!!! Ok *runs away sheepisly* I'm done venting now

Amber and Mutant Enemy never came to an agreement. I don't think she will be in this season.

I want to watch this again before making any extensive comments, but for now I'll just settle for a big "whoaaaaaaaa." That episode was so diabolically sinister I'm floored.

I agree with Doby's "whoaaaaaaaa." I'm so confused after watching this. That first couple moments of Willow talking to Cassie/Tara was sweet, but was Willow really talking to Tara or was it some evil trick of Cassie's?
Poor Dawn...and Buffy and Willow...nice trashed house they've got now. But I was glad to see Joyce again, even if it was really brief. That vampire Holden was one of the best small character's I've seen. Very fresh and funny. So Spike's up to his old ways again? I would've thought the chip and the pain (not to mention his soul) would've kept him from that. Time for Xander to kick him out. |

Did they start airing the Episodes early or did everyone decide to quit using spoiler space? *really didn't want to see any spoilers*

Well, seeing as this is an ep discussion thread, spilers should probably be expected - I personally don't venture into discussions unless I've seen the ep or don't mind spoilage - but I'll edit some space into the top post

I have to agree with shortie on this point. I knew I woul ssee spoilers when I entered the thread, because even if it had aired nowhere to discuss the ep you would ahve to discuss what happened, or MAY happen. Which is the definition of spoilers.
And I think England is airing them on Mondays while we have to wait an extra day here in the states. |

Well...I too wanna watch this ep again as I don't think I can gush enough to fully explain how much I freakin' loved and was wowed by the episode. My leader Drew has once again excelled himself imho. (not forgetting Jane of course)
And yes yes SPOILERS below. I will say this because this line had me in major stitches : "It will eat us starting with our bottoms" (Forgive me if the line is slightly paraphrased) I. Laughed. So. Much. *still giggling at the line* NeitherHereNorThere: I think it's safe to say that it wasn't Tara. I don't *think* that the voice in the basement is Cassie...I'm assuming it just took her form. But, ya never know. Oh..I will say one thing. I do think the scenes with Will and Cassie would have been extra powerful if it had been Tara instead. Nay'mind eh Oh..I was gonna shut up wasn't I until I re-watch. Hee. Gush Gush Drew Drew Gush Gush. ++ "Confused, maybe - never scared."

after a night of sleep......
tasha: yes, yes! i would have loved to see willow bein visited by tara. that would have been extra killer emotional evil gut wrenchin with a full willow break down and aly cryin and the revelation its just something...deeply....evil. that would have rawked hard! this ep left some whys, as in "why did the entity visit dawn, willow and andrew". it seems that buffy really was talkin to a vampire (loved the therapy session...very interestin). why is it important for the shapeshifter to seperate Willow and dawn from buffy ? why not anya and xander ? either it will visit the scoobies again, or maybe dawn and willow could be a thread to it in the ongoin season, or it just likes playin mind games. i think dawn was amazin this ep. imagine yew would sit at home and than dead mummy comes to visit yew but not the nice way, but with evil company. i would have been out that door within 3 secs. but dawn fought it back, and since when is she down with the mojo ? gotta say, loved dawn this ep (she even squealed for yew tasha! did the shapeshifter need a sacrifize to when andrew (the biiiiiitch!!!) killed jonathan ? that was a beautiful scene with him lying all dead and bleeding on that sign. poor jona btw......i liked him. and what was that with spoik goin all "yum food" ? i suspect it is not really spoik. it does not fit with his current behaviour and state of mind. ok. more coffee, than more pondering. |

HTK: Traditionally the episode threads are considered to contain spoilers from the start, be it speculation from web rumors, trailers, or people who have seen/read the Wildfeed. Just in case I'll add spoilers on any pre-airdate commentary though.
Tasha: Your leader is cool, but my leader RRK is cooler. s p o i l e r s If I had to sum this episode in one word it would definitely be "sinister." Each of the four major threads of the episode had some comedic moments along the way but the outcomes were definitely very dark. Just as Angel had their own "big omens" sort of week (no spoilage), it seems the big bad situation is really about to kick into gear now. Seeing as the threads diverged so much and were almost their own stories I'll try to break this one up.... -Dawn's haunting: The opening of this segment with Dawn Bueller parading around the house was too much fun. The anchovies song cracked me up especially. Unfortunately the no electricity house led to much spookiness in short order. Haunted houses really freak me out so this bit got under my skin, but it was great to see Dawn finally keep her cool. Plus the demon really screwed up when it tried to tell her "get out." You don't tug on Superman's cape and you don't try to use Dawn's own catchphrase against her. The big question from this scene is of course whether or not Joyce was really Joyce. There was the whole spooky Lynchian glowing spirit part seems to differentiate her appearance from those of the others. Plus it would seem strange if Dawn had to fight the demon just to be manipulated by it. -Jonathan and Andrew: The usual comedic moments came about with them (Mexicoan vs Klingon) but this really twisted both characters as well. Jonathan shows some very strong remorse towards his past and obviously has a desire to redeem himself. Meanwhile Andrew has definitely jumped to the dark side and is under the thumb of "Warren." It's frightening how trusting Jonathan was of Andrew and how callous Andrew has become. -Buffy and Holden: Despite the whole being evil bit it's a shame that Holden couldn't stick around. It made sense that he would try to strike at Buffy through what he knew as well as outright trying to kill her. His total naievate about her role and how toasted he was came across as a bit cute everytime he cheerily proclaimed himself an "arch enemy." Of course there was his big revelation at the end, but I'll get to that bit later. Not too sure about them cribbing the nemeses bit from Mystery Men though. *oops, tab+enter too early much? continuing via edit....* Willow and Cassie: Pretty obviously this would have originally included Tara and probably would have been much more emotionally intense. Rather than focus on what it could have been, for now I'll focus on what was there. Obviously I was a pretty big fan of Help so seeing Cassie again, even pseduo-Cassie was great. Having the prophet, or in this case the false prophet, approach Willow was an interesting touch. It was really tough to see Willow get torn apart in this scene, especially as she realizes that someone or something had been manipulating her through her wounded heart. The big question is why is the First Evil so desperate to stop Willow from using magic again? Is she the only one capable of stopping it eventually? Was it just trying to eliminate her completely? What will Giles and the magic superfriends across the sea have to say about it? This sets up an interesting scenario for Willow as she might have to redeem herself through the very act which could destroy her. Interesting that Buffy might be telling Willow she's the big gun again. -Not talking to dead people: Well, Spike is dead but we didn't really get to hear anything he and his date were saying to each other. I had a pretty good idea she was dead meat from the start but it still caught me off-guard when Holden revealed his sire. Very wicked touch. I'm in disagreement with my sidekick (mwah) about this right now, but I'm 99.87% certain that was really Spike and not another manifestation of the First Evil. Perhaps the evil part of his mind is trying to lash out at the "good" soul, or perhaps the First Evil still has some sort of sway over him. Taking the Slayer's former lover and twisting him back to the dark side would obviously be a massive blow to her. Next week should be interesting for developments here. -Xander and Anya: they've had a lot of focus so far this year so I didn't miss them too much this week. Neither character would've fit very well here so it was nice to give them a bit of downtime. But how sinister would it be if Xander is lying in the closet with some fangmarks right now? |

Today's episode was... something else. I honestly didn't like it. Everything was just too messed up, left me really confused and all.
The Willow parts made me almost cry thou, she believed Cassie was actually talking to Tara and all just to find out she wasn't or something. It was just too weird and confusing. BTW, how come a lot of you saw it before it even aired...? ____________________________

Oh.My.Joss!
SPOILERS Well that was one hell of an episode if i must say so! Willow. Awwwwww. The sadness. Those scenes made me sad. I've been waiting for the moment when she verbalizes how much she misses Tara and then when she did i was like Thats some hurting shes feeling. And Aly ... amazing as usual! Dawn. When did Dawn become all magick girl? Although she was quick with the knowing what to do about the demon/whateverthatthingwas. I've always not minded Dawn in previous seasons but this season shes all kick butt and kind of cool. Is it a bad thing to say that i totally didn't even realize that Xander and Anya weren't even in this episode Buffy. Dont have much to say about her. Kind of didn't like her tonight. Thats bad i know. Tons of foreshadowing in this here episode. Much more then usual i think. Thats it for now. Until i rewatch it. ~*~Tamara~*~ |

I think it's safe to say that this far down the page, that spoilage is afoot...
Dawn's turning into a Swiss-Army-Knife-Gal here... I mean, it's not the first time she's messed with the magicks (she did try that "raise the dead" spell on... hmn... ironically enough, Mom)... she's been training with Buffy this season... she's got the reasearch thing going on... No, I don't think she'll be replacing any Slayers out there... but damn if she won't be some kinda force to be reckoned with come the (next) Apocalypse... Oddly, I noticed that Anya wasn't around before I realised that there was no Xander either, this episode... makes ya wonder if they were having a private moment together over coffee or something... There was a week break in there, but once again, that disturbed feeling is back... if this is supposed to be the season where things are kinda supposed to go back to the light-hearted stuff of seasons past, then I think someone fibbed ta me... I'll admit it... I had thought on seeing the previews last week that Buffy's conversation partner was gonna be Parker... maybe it was wishful thinking on my part (I always thought he got off light with just the blow to the head)... but I'm kinda glad at the same time is wasn't... this guy was much more interesting... that last line about Spike being his sire tho... kinda gave me a flashback to season 2 (I'm begining to realise that a lot of things this season seems to be flashing me back to season 2... coincidence?) and that girl (I want to say Theresa?) from Phases whom Angelus turned... specifically the "message" she gave to Buffy: 'Angel sends his love.' Willow's visitor... some much needed moments there... it was more than just hearing Will vocalise her pain here, I think... it was the beginnings of a healing process for her... interesting that it would choose Cassie to be the vessel there... possibly as a result of Will identifying with her through the website and such? Back to Dawn and her visitors... not sure what to make of things here... the message given was way to broad... the only thing I see happeneing out of this is a sense of distrust building between sisters... which can't possibly be good... And lastly... Spike... was it him, was it Morph (I actually don't like that term, but at least everyone will know who I'm talking about)... or hey, I got a new theory that I haven't heard anyone else pop in with... the girl he was with all night... what's the chances that -she- wasn't human? Could have been a vamp, looking for a meal, and choose the one guy in the bar who was obviously looking to drown his sorrows... Curiouser and curiouser... ---Phrogie speculation gal |

Re: Episode discussion: Conversations With Dead People

I'm still wondering, why did "Cassie" tell Willow to quit magic. Was it because something bad is really about to happen in which Willow will be going evil yet again or because it was a demon who knows Willow will have the power to stop him (with magic) from doing bad... guess we'll hafta wait and see.

To repeat everyone..."whoa."
Lemme just say right off..I was creeped by the scenes with Dawn!!! O.M.G. I had to turn the light on cuz I got so creeped out. I enjoyed the Buffy/vamp interchange. It was pretty amusing. As a psych major I loved this vamp! he was so cool! And kinda cute. *licks lips* Okay, I need to rewatch this episode to be able to type up more. ~ PS Where were Xander and Anya?!?!?! I mean Xander's lost a few people to death!! Jesse coulda been brought back. I was working in an optometry store for the summer and one day I reach down to get a sunglass to try on and say, "Ooo, these are great," as I pull on the plastic stop sign shaped frames. Richard muttered something like, "No," to tell me that they won't be good on me. I put them on again and ask Richard, "What do you think?" He looked at me and says, "You've got really great tits, don't you?" I think he has said, "You've got really great taste, don't you?" So I say, "Yeah, these are great!"

Re: Episode discussion: Conversations With Dead People

In my opinion, tonight's episode is one of the best of the young season.
It stands side by side with another great episode, (written by Drew Goddard) "Selfless". I think that Mr. Goddard has infused the series with some fresh, new writing and should be given more tasks during this season. I can't say that there was a part of tonight's episode that I didn't like. And that's rare. It made me cry (Willow's tears), think, get major goosebumps (the whole Dawn and the Heavy Breathing Demon in the house), and speculate on the direction this season is going. Much applause to those involved. It's just a pity that Azure Skye's character is dead. She is evidently a woman with a great deal of acting talent. (I mean, who among you can say you didn't care about Cassie's predicament the last time she was on?) Perhaps Miss Skye will have her own show one day. Also, Michelle Trachtenberg....much more entertaining and watchable tonight than in the second half of "Him". And, at the risk of getting pelted with rotten fruit and vegetables by other Amberholics, Adam Busch's Warren is more interesting dead than alive. ------------------------------------------------------------ D --> |
