"The life and soul of a vengeance demon." Let's say that again, "The life and SOUL of a vengeance DEMON." I guess Anya's amazement at Spike's soul was because she wanted to compare it to her own.

Exploring moral amibugity through the hordes of hell seems Mutant Enemy's biggest folly. Gypsy curses aside of course. (And I put it aside since Angel's curse is more MPD then anything.) I found Dahoffren at the end of the ep far closer to what *I* think of when I think of demon.

I guess I need to be more PC when I think of ravening hordes out to slaughter humanity.

That said the rest of the ep wasn't half-bad, though my mind did provide what I magine went on at Mutant Enemy.

"I think we need to start doing that continuity thing again."

"You know, continuity, where we refer to things that happened in other episodes and seasons and stuff."

"BUT Anya's supposed to feel remourse."

"But it's just window dressing."

Some may say that belongs in R,S,V, but I see it as a dramatization of the conflicts in the story.

The other problem would be Willow's magick use and how she had a reversion to Dark Willow... but it's not addictive so I guess that's ok.

Good and evil seem to be the sides of a coin they flip each time they sit down to write.

Now good points, and there were some.

The continuity was nice, just suprising after it being gone for so long. And yeah I liked the fact Xander's s2 lie was revealed.

Though the fact Buffy was given more dialgoue about her lost love then Willow burns me more then a little bit.

The close captioned scenes were more then a little cool, though I wonder where Aud learned English to converse with Dahoffren when he first approached her.

The Russian revolution was necessary for the story, but didn't really grip me. Not as much as the musical which I actually enjoyed. The best part being when Xander got to play rotating platform.

Finally, for the record, Halley was NOT inncoent (IMHO). She was able to lay the Buffy birthday curse on Anya without batting an eye.

Oh, and as a final thought I actually have to give a great deal of credit for was the fact that Anya's manneriesims were shown to NOT be a part of her demonic past. Just something integral to her as a person.
