BACKSTORY I first found out about this song and this artist in July 2002, thanks to some UK folks at this very board - I believe it was Rob who first posted the lyrics, which I immediately enjoyed the first time I read them. Then I went to Amy's website to listen to the song and it instantly clicked with me. I proceeded to watch the video, which was very dark (emotionally, not 'light-wise') and had a great deal of symbolism and cutting-edge portrayals. Thus, "Just a Little Girl" has been an anthem for me since July. SLAY IT AGAIN Before the episode aired here last night, I had seen a few posts that talked about how horrible the preview was and that it used poor pop music. Needless to say, I was a little worried, especially with the over-the-top comedic-and-misleading promos that UPN has been creating this season. When the episode finally aired and the trailer rang out, I was pleased to hear "Just a Little Girl." Not only has this has been a personal anthem for me for over half a year, but I've always itched to do a BtVS-themed wallpaper or episode summary with those lyrics because I feel they represent Buffy as well as the overall concept of a Slayer very well: Don't underestimate me. Don't judge me. Don't put me in a box. I may look like a little girl, but there's more to me than you think.
