Woo and hoo for Giles coming back! But still, Wildfeed evil. I want my Tara back and I won't settle for less.

Waste the Watcher and bring back the Witch. | |||
|
Nuff said.
LOL But to elaborate, ASH has said he wanted out, and I for one do not blame him. I mean he had friends he has family and after 5 years he wants to spend time with them. The thing is that makes his character sporadic at best. I mean scheduling between whatever movies Amber may wish to do should still be easier then scheduling between ASH's own projects and travel times. That said there's all the love in the world for Giles, but when you get down to it... Waste the Watcher and bring back the Witch. |

Hey everyone!
Don't forget, we have two separate threads set up for TWO TO GO (the first hour of the finale // ep 21) and GRAVE (the second hour // ep 22). You are currently in the thread for TWO TO GO. |

Wasn't a big fan of Two To Go. Some really cool looking scenes, but not much more than that for me. Grave I liked, but I'll go to that thread for comments.
Who wrote TTG? I missed it? I was pretty disappointed, but I've only seen it once so far. that could change. "Quiet. You'll miss the humorous conclusion." -Anya in RESTLESS

"Here we are now. Entertain us."
SPIKE in "Two To Go" After that quote was uttered by the infamous platinum blond vampire, I chuckled lightly to myself. And I took that quote to heart. I waited to be entertained. And waited. And waited. And after that waited some more. Then the end credits came. I probably am in the minority here, but this year's Season Finale was....well....Let's just say I'd rather be forced to watch UPN's comedies than to see "Two to Go" and "Grave" again. There has been better writing on "Buffy". For these two episodes, the writing was so contrived, hackneyed. The people who wrote these episodes have little or no originality. For example: Willow's long winded speeches. Yes, I know villains get to make with the diatribe..but this? On Alyson Hannigan (who is a good actress)...everything she said (except for the magic) was like her trying on a shoe two sizes two small. It just didn't fit. On more than one occassion, the actors seemed like they were tired...so tired...they just said their lines. There was no emotion, true emotion or depth behind them. The cast of "Roswell" of whom I read wanted to get far, far away from the show as possible, put more of an effort into their Series Finale than the cast of "Buffy" did tonight........... I can't go through every moment that wasn't to my liking. There are just too many. And you all would be bored... So I'm going to cut my actual rant against this season finale short. I'm going to finish with two things: First...Joss Whedon needs to get back to "Buffy". I said it before. Many people have said it before. He needs to get into the trenches, start churning out scripts, do the direction. He's tried to leave it in what he believes are capable hands. I think that his people, especially the writing crew, as a whole, have failed him. There is but one exception, and I say that it is: "Tabula Rasa." There, we had the humor, the happiness, the sadness that we expect from every episode. "Tabula Rasa" and "Once More With Feeling" are this season's highlights. But Two out of Twenty Two isn't good. If I may make a historical reference here: Napoleon, the Emperor of France, during what is called the 100 Days Campaign, relied on his subordinates to carry out his orders and conduct the battles as he would, (since apparently he wasn't feeling well). To make a long story short, he relied on mostly incompetent or untrustworthy people and that's why, in part, he lost the battle at Waterloo.... Joss has to stop overextending himself. There's time for "Firefly" and directing "Iron Man" later. He has to get back to his brainchild, the project he put so much of himself into, the show that made him famous. As for my second, and perhaps more important point, I will try to step back and say this with as much impartiality as I can muster: The brightest moments of the season were with anything that dealt with Amber Benson's character 'Tara'. Even if the episode was so-so, her presence, her charisma if you will, made the scenes she appeared in worthwhile. Worth watching. And both 'Tara' and Amber will be missed on Tuesday nights in October... .....unless the petition, and the Joss-shaped voodoo doll I have underneath my desk works....... Some of you might say that I am too much of an Amberholic, and perhaps this isn't the only forum in which I should express the above opinion. But it's the truth. ------------------------------------------------------------ forever...."The annoying virgin has a point." ANYA Have You ever noticed...that when Willow and Tara kiss.. Willow is always on the left??? |

I agree with gentleman spike. This ep is sorry. I really hope Joss can fix this mess next season.
Tara: My heart doesn't stutter.
Tara: Willow, I got so lost.Willow: I found you. I willalways find you. Tara: Nobody messes with MY girl!Willow: I'm more of a breast gal myself...but then again, you knew that. |

Look at my comments in Grave. I tried to be nicer and say they were using too much "artistic liscense" but in the end it means the same thing.

No you're right, the writing was bad. Thank god they have people who can make bad writing look good.
Two to Go seemed kinda slow. I dunno. Maybe it's cause they were running all episode, and the two geeks were just whining the whole time. Especially Andrew. He got on my nerves real quick. Jason

Well I kept thinking to myself over and over, Tara was killed for this? Some of the razzle dazzle was ok, but can't replace good writing. Yes this was a bit disappointing.

That's exactly it. Killing her is one thing, but it better be worth it (story wise), and in with the leaps of logic and heaping doses of artisitc liscense taken I wouldn't sacrifice Miss Kitty Fantastico for it.

In one thread or another there is a wildfeed faq. Probably your best bet. Especially now that it's aired.

I have just see that they have, at least, the transcripts of TWO TO GO and GRAVE. If anyone want to read them, go here: www.studiesinwords.de/sho...ason6.html Note: I prefer not read them again, no Tara, no show. |
