Wolfie, on the east coast we're crying for techie types at the hospitals, clinics etc. I know it'd be a bit a problem with the commute issue.

Wolfie:
Most military bases have gone to a community pharmacy plan. This is where all patients, active duty, family members, and retired military, go to the same pharmacy for service. The pharmacy is located away from the main clinics or hospital. the community pharmacies are staff by DOD or local hire civilians. The one at Fort Campbell has fifteen windows open at one time or another. Check with any military post, around you, to see if they have openings, and how to apply. I believe that you may have to apply somewhere on line. COMMA |

Thanks for the help.
I do know about the military places. We have a few around here but the closest one is about 40 minutes on the freeway while the others are well over an hour. I do check online about once a week. The problem is, the starting wage is well above what a hospital pays that there are tons of people appliing for the same position. That mean only the most experienced usuallly get the interviews. I have heard nothing on any of my applications to these places. I've sent in a few over the last 5 months too! Wish me luck on my interview tomorrow. I may be "chucking" tires for a living! With the starting wage so high, I'm thinking its a union shop. No prob. I've worked in union shops before. Not happy about the union but then, I've never been in a place where the union rep did any work for us either!. ...................................shadowwolf |

Keep this up and the name Rachel and Albert Einstein will be spoken with the same awe of their mental capacity!
I have had more customers make complaints about the store(s) setting up Christmas items way to early this year. The veriage is directed at all retailers, not just my store. Well, if they do not like the planograms being set early, they should really love the fact that Wallyworld is having their first Christmas sell this weekend. This seems to be in a direct response to SEARS and K-Mart running ads, for over a month now, stating that they have lay-a-way, while Wallyworld did away with it two years ago. People, it is on in a very big way! We will see if this means that Black Friday will be replaced as the 'King Day' of the Christmas shopping season. COMMA

Well, my interview was more of a group thing as we were not interviewed individually. Were told about the company, what is expected, how the hiring process and
drug testing works and that they demand avaliability at a moments notice to stay if needed before everyone can go home.
We were also given a tour and shown exactly what we would be doing. I consider it easy work compared to stacking 5 gallon buckets of paint!!! This place is not union but is competitive with unions so as the union dosen't come in there. Its a great place to work and I hope I get the job. I have a second, more personal interview tomorrow. This is all happening at a strange time. My current job at the hospital may be no more. The pharmacy was told to make more cuts in their budget. I went from 72 hours per pay period to 8. Thats right. One day of work for the next pay period. I have house to pay for as well as my truck! Things will be fine if do get this job tomorrow. My director is very understanding and encourges me to move on as she dosen't know if she will be able to keep me at all. Its all very scary. ....................................shadowwolf |

I am viewing the news stories about the Fort Hood shootings. A United States Army Major, who is a Psychiatrist, who had been dispatched from Walter Reed, to
Fort Hood, to council young soldiers returning from tours in combat zones, is the shooter. This just does not happen.

I was very sorry to hear this. I don't see what all this conflict is achieving. So many potential lost in all the lives that have been brought to a
premature, abrupt end. RIP brave victims

According to reports the shooter was to be deployed, unsure of whether this was to Iraq or to Afganistan. It's just overwhelmingly sad all the way around.
The news just broke my heart. RIP to the victims and prayers go out to their families, friends, coworkers and the community of Ft. Hood. |

Ok, up-date....
I thought it was going to be the 1-on-1 interview but.....group skills test. Simple. No doubt about passing it and finished in record time. Then, the dreaded "Application". 7 pages long and took me almost an hour to finish. Attached my resume and other info that was requested to the application and handed it in to the HR coordinator. Will be notified of individual interviews but don't know the time frame. Was called in to work for someone on friday and worked a full day sat. which I wasn't planning so that was a big help. One of the newly hired techs told me I could have her hours as she dosen't really need the job. Thats fine but she is only scheduled to work 2 days a month. But, I'll take whatever I can get. She's already giving me her next scheduled work day which is the 21st. HOPEs and PRAYERs to ACM and everyone else that needs them. I've had my share of ill parents and sibling issues. ........................................shadowwolf |

Just read some tweets that public healthcare is one step closer to happening in America. Way cool, this'll make the existing insurances more fair and
competetive. Hopefully EVERYONE will be able to get the care they need soon and no one will die over wealth-ditribution-issues anymore.
cause that's what it is, people die cause others aren't willing to help when someones in mortal danger cause it'd cost them *thinking of the lil girl who was denied insurance for being petite and how that girl might die if she gets sick and needs care her parents can't afford.* |

My concern with the health coverage issue is the rampant and I do mean rampant idiotic administrative costs that just knock the whole medical coverage into the stratosphere. Admin costs and paperwork are just insane. Each and every insurance company insists on having their very own forms to fill out. Well these things can be standardized. If my company is FORCED TO DO THIS by John Q. Public, congress and every cost cutting nit wit out there, then the insurance companies can and SHOULD do the same. |
