As most of you know, I was recently diagnosed with an ovarian tumor. I've got a surgery date of Oct. 29th to remove the beast. In the meantime, I've decided to have some fun with the hand I've been dealt. Referring to it as "tumor" is boring and dreary. So, I'm taking nominations for a name for it. Things you need to know: It's about 9.5cm (almost 4 inches) in diameter, amorphous in shape and situated on my left ovary. The prize here is merely bragging rights and a little fun. I'm taking suggestions through Oct. 23rd. Winning name will be announced on Oct. 24th. Get those creative juices flowing! Sue

(and everyone knows how much i dislike warren.) 2) non buffy related name - (and i mean no disrespect sue) "plunder from down under" - coz plunder's made a forced entry and taken up residence down under and is not welcome.

And, Sid Vicious was a punk and a squatter, just like your tumor. (yep, spent waaaay too much time on that one.... ) --You could just call it "Lefty"... C'mon people! It's abdominal surgery that allows them to go in, spelunk around, take what they need and sew me back up. I'll be in the hospital a couple days...and then we've got a 6 to 8 week recovery barring anything unforeseen. Ho hum. Woe is me. Enough already. So, we're at a week to surgery and counting. I'm experiencing some major increase in pain and other unfun symptoms that are getting me down. I've spoken with my doctor and there's nothing they can do to move my surgery up at this point. Unless things take a dire turn and I require emergent care (they've told me what that turn entails), I'm in grin and bear it-ville. So, let's grin, folks. The contest is winding down and I've had some phenominal response to the contest. You guys have made me smile and laugh with your creativity. Here are the entries so far. Many were not posted here, since a MySpace account is required to post. Names recieved to date: 1. Bebaccepting, Beba for short - refers to a typo in original contest post, a la Buckwheat 2. Warren - evil thing that hurt someone we all care about but got his in the end via flaying 3. Towanda - Fried Green Tomatoes 4. Mayor Wilkins - Giant Snake that got his butt kicked by an 18 year old girl 5. Plunder from Down Under - a word from Team Aussie, Oie Oie Oie 6. 19 X 2 - ??? 7. Brutus - et tu Brute? 8. Sid Vicious - just a good solid nasty name 9. Lefty - On the left, on the left...there's a tumor on my ovary to the left... 10. Steve - a boss who someone would love to see removed 11. Amorphix - if my tumor starred in The Matrix 12. Bob - can we fix it, YES WE CAN! 13. Skip - from Angel...good guy who turned out not to be and got his in the end 14. Ni - as in The Knights That Say Ni. 15. Sandy - for Sandy Kofax...lefthanded pitcher who was formidable, but still hittable. In the category of "slogan", we've got a winner...it was the only entry, but I love it....OVA and OUT! Keep 'em coming folks. I'll announce a winner tomorrow.
