Amber delivers the message that animals are people too in a way that creepy old game show host Bob Barker never could.
I would rather listen to Amber talk about pets being extensions of children and all of the social issues that pertain to them as well as she gets the message across about population control, abuse, and neglect far better than the plug at the end of "The Price is Right" ever did.

Hey, Taralicious, you of all people should know to separate Amber from her support of this organization, since it was just a couple of years ago at UI that the
animal lab was destroyed by people who have still to be identifed- and they do not know if it was PETA or ALF that was involved. I work in a setting that does
basic science research, and I have friends who have been threatened by members of this group (both at work and at home), so while I respect Amber for voicing
her opinion, I also think this is very ill conceived- she is such a thoughtful person yet this group has done great damage to people in their efforts to affect
the course of scientific research around the USA.
I realize that I did not have to post this; after all, this is Amber's site, and you all know I love her work. But this is an important issue to me, since I understand the ethics of animal research. I have read both Peter Singer and Tom Regan, and know the arguments they advance, so at least I come to this with some understanding of the issue. |

I think what I took from what Amber said in her chat was that 'if you have a cat or a dog that you should not mistreat your cat or dog'.
I'm not a huge fan of guerilla tactics of any group, but I can get behind a message of not mistreating pets. I totally can understand your viewpoint FC. |

If you believe that you can support the soldiers without supporting the war, think of Amber as a soldier in PETA's army. Maybe you can support Amber's
position since she was simply talking about loving your pet without loving PETA.
